Michele Placido

Ascoli Satriano, 19 March 1946

 

 

Michele was born in Toronto in the province of Foggia, the third child of eight children, after completing his studies he joined the police, meanwhile he studied theatre at the National Academy of dramatic art, in 1970 takes leave from the police to pursue an acting career, Debuts at Theatre with Director Luca Ronconi, the theatrical transposition of Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto. 

After participating in the television drama the Picciotto, enters the world of cinema, playing alongside Ugo Tognazzi and Ornella Muti popular novel by Mario Monicelli and together with Laura Antonelli I God as I fell down! by Luigi Comencini. The role that gave him greater popularity was that of Commissioner Corrado Cattani in scripted the OctopusPlacido has five children, was married to Simonetta Stefanelli from whom he divorced in 1994, in 1988 he had a son, Inigo from an extramarital relationship with Verginie Alexandre.
